A Change to Festive NPC’s

Whilst drinking my Coco and listening to the staff, we seem to have come up with a Good Idea. Hey, we have them from time to time. No, this good idea won’t cost you a penny and no it’s not in balanced or only for the mega rich…

Up till now, Festive NPC’s have been a case of ‘Request them in the forums’ and hope Coops Spots your request and that you spelt your Set name and system correctly… It’s kind of worked for a number of years, but it’s a bit long in the tooth. Well now we have a NEW System for this, and you don’t need to leave the comfort of your command chair at your Settlement.

Hire a Festive Agent
On the main layout screen of your Settlement where all the buildings are displayed, there is a new Button ‘Festive‘.

This takes you to a screen where, depending on the time of year, you can hire a Festive agent of your liking to come stay at your Settlement till the festive period ends. Decide you want to change things up and change your mind, no problem. Cancel the Agent and hire another. No cost, no fuss.

Currently, there are Festive Sections for October, November and of course December.

Creating this system also made me cast in IRON the start and end dates of the Festive Periods. These are listed on the page, but to make it clear for all who don’t own a settlement, they always start on the 1st of each month and end on the 10th of the following month.

So right now up till the 10th of November you can Hire an Agent for October AND an Agent for November. With the December selection opening on the 1st of December.

Note : ALL existing NPC’s that were deployed (by me at your request) were removed around lunchtime today. This was done as Festive Agent NPC’s will be automatically removed by the system. So it gave us a clean sweep and a fresh start.

As I expand this system, you will start to see more of the Festive Offices and more Agents appear in the list. It also means we can run the less familiar Festive events now with an automated ‘Offering’ and automated closure system.

For now no grab a Festive NPC or if your quick one from October and one from November. There is no restriction so from Level 1 to Level 8 anyone with a Settlement can hire a festive agent, no cost no fuss..
